Question: I can't get consistent Rate Control how do I fix that?

Answer 1: Check the HI Low Flow Valve at rear of main boom frame. This valve is not a shutoff valve but rather an Orifice. In the closed position it’s in restricted flow for rates of up to 25 gals/min or under (displayed on Screen). Sometimes when applying 25-30 Gals/min the valve can be partially open. The purpose of the valve is to create both pressure and stabilize the flow metre.

Answer2: Check Min Max Settings. At lower rates Min Max should be 3-4, at higher rates 2-3. The Min Max setting adjusts the response time of the Solution Pump. At lower rates the pump needs to respond quicker.

Answer3: Remove and Clean Flow Metre/Strainers. Some foreign Materials could be stopping the impeller/flow

Answer4: Radar Sensor could be faulty. Check for stable speed readings. Disconnect radar gun and use wheel speed Sensors. Contact Local Service

Question: Why can’t I get the Target rate I’m aiming for? Its why off what I’ve set the monitor to

Answer: The Controller could have reset itself to the factory defaults. The computer needs to be recalibrated. Calibration is as follows:

  1. Flow metre: Calibration number is on a silver Dog Tag hanging on flow metre or on wiring harness in the cab. The number needs to match the one that is displayed on the Display

  2. Solution Pump needs recalibration

  3. Boom Width and number of nozzles per section needs entering

  4. Radar and wheel speed sensors need to be calibrated, except for in the 49 series

  5. 4720 and newer all boom sensors, return to height, and fold sensors (49’s)

Question: I am struggling to achieve target rate what can I do?

Answer1: Check Main filter screens, could be reducing flow to the pump. Be sure to turn tank shut off valve and quick fill before taking off.

Answer2: Check main filter at rear of boom frame since it is before the Pressure sensor pressure will be low and rate low as well. Also be careful not to lose the o-ring at the bottom of the strainer

Question: Why do I keep running out of chemical too soon?

Answer1: Check minimum spray pressure, it is commonly set to high. If you are spraying @ 35 PSI and your min spray is @ 30 PSI you will over apply on the whole field and run short. The min spray PSI should be set 2 PSI higher than the last nozzle that turns on. When last nozzle turns on @ 14 PSI it should be set at 16PSI for example.

Answer2: Sticky flow metre: Stalling and not reading all chemical going through impeller, remove + and clean flow metre with brake and parts cleaner

Answer3: Adjust Flow metre Number: If all else Fails, not all flow metres work 100% with factory settings, if you are running short of chemical lower your flow metre number. If you have leftovers, increase flow metre number

4700 – 4720

Question: Why is my speed reading fluctuating?

Answer1: Radar are very sensitive. They can read grass moving in the wind when the sprayer isn’t moving; also can read the speed of rain drops. These are normal with sprayers using Radar Speed.

Answer2: Faulty radar gun. With sprayer in motion reading should be stable. If jumping up and down radar may have failed

Answer 3: If you have an iTC receiver on your sprayer you can purchase a $200 harness to replace the radar. You will now be reading GPS speed.

Question: Why won’t my Hardi Eductor drain chemical out of hopper? My valves are all set right, and hopper just fills up when I open lower valve...

Answer1: if solution tank is too full (over 700 Gals) educator is probably not going to work

Answer2: Siphon hose in tank may have fallen off and is floating in tank, reconnect the hose.

Answer3: Orifice behind hose, below educator might be missing. If front hose at T fitting under educator is removed for cleaning, white orifice could fall out & not be noticed. Eductor will not operate without this piece.

Question: My eductor won`t work...

Answer: Hose may have fallen off inside Solution Tank, with this siphon hose off eductor can`t pull from hopper

4720-4830

Question: Why is my eductor, making so much Foam?

Answer: When using Volatile chemicals such as Liberty, you need to fine tune the on off eductor valve on the panel near the load switch. Open valve just enough to get product to flow out of eductor; this will minimize foaming
